My commitment and passion for my clients is the reason WHY I am in this profession.

I graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Psychology and have been interested in behavioral finance ever since.  I served five years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force as a Captain with the Strategic Air Command and learned first-hand the value of discipline, systems and procedures.  For the past thirty years, I have been fortunate to help individuals and their families define their goals and reach their dreams.   After working with and learning from established financial companies, I opened Kanner Financial Services in 2007 to focus on clients and give them the full attention they deserve.

Never content to take continuing education just to satisfy the regulators, I have endeavored to expand my knowledge on a consistent basis -- to remain current on changes in the various laws, procedures and technological advancements that relate to the financial industry.  Over the past 30 years I have earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional (CFP® Professional), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) and CIC Certified Insurance Consultant designations.  I am completing a Master's Degree in Financial Services from The American College.

I am a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), a past president of the FPA of New Haven, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) of Greater New Haven and NAIFA of Connecticut.  I have served in a variety of community and professional organizations over the years.  I live in Hamden with my wife Maribeth and son Noah, and have proudly watched daughters Stacey and Eliza excel in college and beyond.

I look forward to meeting you.

I earned a BE in Engineering Management and a BA in History from Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey.  After graduating, I worked at Ford Motor Company's electronics plant in Pennsylvania.  While there, I met and married my husband Jack.  In 2000, we moved from Pennsylvania to Connecticut.  I decided to be a stay-at-home mom until the youngest of our three fabulous boys started kindergarten.

In 2012, I was eager to get back to work and willing to explore a new field.  I was fortunate enough to approach Geoff for financial advice at the same time that he was looking for an assistant.  I take great satisfaction in being part of a firm dedicated to helping its clients.

When not in the office or teaching 2nd grade at Temple Beth Sholom's religious school, I am busy keeping up with my boys' diverse interests and activities.
